Aviation Art
A new release commissioned by Aeronaut Books depicting their Aviation Medal of Honor Series in volume 7/Part 3 available now in bookstores and on Amazon. The painting depicts Major Thomas McGuire's actions on the 25-26th of December 1944. Titled A Christmas Bounty, this painting depicts Mac's P-38L Pudgy V as he barrels through the Japanese formation of Zeroes over Luzon with a head on pass, claiming one as well as 7 others for the two days. This action was the catalyst for the recommendation for his Medal of Honor. Sadly less than a month later McGuire was KIA during a dogfight taking the P-38 into a low maneuver in which he stalled inverted and crashed, killing him instantly.

Christmas Day Bounty-SOLD

Framed final piece
Announcing a follow up piece to "Shadow of the Moon"
A second commissioned painting in a continuation of Wilde Sau pieces depicting ace
Friedrich-Karl Müller of 1./NJGr.10 in August of 1944

Müller in his "Red 2", the subject of the painting

The conceptual sketch is of one of Müllers encounters with a RAF Mosquito. Müller was flying "White 1" ( unfortunately no known photos exist of this aircraft) on the night of August 23, 1944 near Eindhoven when he claimed his Mosquito, a Mk B KB242 of No. 608 SQ. This was Müller's only abschuss (victory) of this type and although confirmed by the OKL it wasn't officially shot down as the aircraft crash landed severely damaged back at its home base at RAF Woodbridge. Why the claim was given may have been to boost morale during a time of high losses as the Mosquito reigned supreme over the skies of Germany. Müller flew "Red 2" only briefly in August and this very machine was simply changed to "Green 3" his more preferred number during September of 1944. It is believed that the aircraft remained with the same camouflage except the number change.
The final will be an oil on linen and size at 20" x 30"

The artist posing next to "Shadow of the Moon", a 30" x 40" originally completed back in 1995 and now in a private collection overseas. This painting depicts Müllers FW-190A-5, "Green 3" while he was with JG.300
